When food is getting scarce…

It was only in July this year when i came to know of hunger, starvation and malnutrition of indigenous people in Kulaman Valley, Mindanao due to rat infestation and drought.
Had it not with a report and photo from MindaNews by Maricel Helario, i would have not know it.

Anyhow, the AHRC’s hunger alert reported the incident to its network, and made appeals to the Philippine government and the international community.
Though immediate response from them is not expected, exposing such neglect by the government could be enough as a ‘wake up call’.

I am still hopeful that the plight of this poor people could draw attention not only from the government, but also to those people who feel their sufferings to take action.
This is the reality in my beloved country Philippines,…Paita oy…
